Wagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapamar has said that Chitwan district can be developed as a hub in the health sector.
He said that since Chitwan is in the middle of the country and is connected to the capital, if a medical hub can be made, not only the people of Wagmati province can be served, but also the citizens of the provinces connected to it can be served. Minister Magar said this while speaking at the third session of 'Chitwan Chintan' organized by Kantipur Media Group in Chitwan on Thursday: Investing in Education and Health: Chinari in Chitwan. Out of the 6.1 million population of Wagmati Province, only 7 million people live in Chitwan. Development infrastructure, climate, agriculture, tourism, industry, health and other sectors have increased day by day, the development of new settlements continues," Minister Magar said, "There are 8 private, government and local hospitals operating in Chitwan. There are 4 big hospitals, there are also educational hospitals. Therefore, it is appropriate to make Chitwan a health hub. We will start to upgrade government and private hospitals.'
He said that the Education and Health Act 2081 has been amended by the Wagmati provincial government to organize the education and health sector. "According to the law, now nursing can be sent by hospitals with at least 100 beds in Wagmati province. When the Act was passed, the Bagulahar Hospital in Chitwan, run by the provincial government, had 50 beds. With the support of the Wagmati state government, 100 beds have been put into operation," he said. "We are preparing necessary additional beds, equipment and infrastructure. Other private hospitals are also being upgraded.'
