'Dalle Khola', the present cemetery

'You came to our way', one day the flowing river stood still and said. When the villager blames all the calamities on the calm flowing Dalle river, then the river cannot flow without talking to the villager. Yes, Dalle Khola can speak, he can tell about his pain.

Dalle river is constantly flowing in its own way. Flowing into the valley, the dry land is irrigated, grain is grown and the fruit trees are filled. But the villagers think that the Dalle river is a road barrier, this river has swallowed up so many human lives. But, does Dalle Khola really enjoy eating the hunger of human life? In particular, did the villagers come on the way of the Dalle river or the Dalle river in the village?

The play 'Dalle Khola' staged at Shilpi Theater presents the complex relationship between nature and human beings and makes us aware of the risks brought by natural disasters and sensitive to human nature. By making the river speak, this drama portrays the pain of nature, human exploitation and activity that has been endured. Also, the beautiful relationship between nature and human being broken, this play shows the corrupt nature, slow bureaucracy, the dishonesty of those who have access to resources and power . Conceived and directed by color artist Bedana Rai, this play is a theatrical adaptation of story writer Parshu Pradhan's story 'Dalle Khola'. Although the story of this play, prepared by a theater in Nepal, is from the past, it also reflects the present.

The story of the play is the story of a village living on Dalle River. Especially in the village, we need water to soak the land . However, there has not been a proper irrigation plan. There is also a need for a bridge in Dalle River. When the flow of water increases, it becomes difficult to cross the river . And every year lives are drowned in Dalle River. Therefore, the village living in the village of Dalle Khola Chhew needs bridges and irrigation. Realizing this lack, Captain Run Bahadur Chamling asked the government for a budget for the construction of the bridge. In the same way, Shiv Bahadur also asks for the budget for the construction of the bridge. Simple, innocent people support their plan . But, will Shiv and Run Bahadur fulfill the needs of those villagers who live by Dalle river? The story of 'Dalle Khola' revolves around this topic .

The story of the play is not only of the village, but of the flowing Dalle river . Dalle Khola is a story of life and experiences. The sweetness of life, culture and relationships connected with the Dalle river is contained in it . The slowness of the bureaucracy is satirized in the play through the need for bridges and bridges. Whenever Shiv and Ran Bahadur reach the ward office to ask for the budget, the scene used to show the slow pace of the office staff is powerful. Those who come to ask for the budget speak loudly, they rush for development .

They seem to be waiting for the budget to arrive, so they can stand for hours in the yard of the government office . However, the employees there seem to be the exact opposite of their speed . Even when they walk, they move slower than chipmunks. Even when he speaks, he is speaking in a manner as if a fly would enter his mouth . It is difficult for them to even move their bodies. They are giving the same assurance to those who come to ask for the budget. Even the office assistant remembers that assurance . When the villagers ask for the budget, he becomes the mouthpiece of the boss. He spends most of his time talking to those who come to ask for budget. But, how long does that lazy employee grow up? To see that, you have to see 'Dalle Khola'.

With this kind of bureaucracy, this play also shows how those who have access to power are fulfilling their selfish interests by luring the poor, marginalized and vulnerable people. It questions the leadership of Nepali society by showing how those who have reached leadership through characters like Run Bahadur and Shiv are misusing resources.  The scene of the river in the

drama is also very powerful. A group of actors in blue sometimes run from the right to the left of the stage and sometimes they are stuck in the middle . They stand side by side, do the same kind of gesture . It is clear from their behavior that this group is representative of Dalle River. They float in the lake of the river, moving with the wind and the wind. Sometimes they appear in the form of floods and sometimes they change into the form of a calm flowing river . They narrate their pain through songs, they narrate their distressing situations by speaking . Dalle river sometimes dances happily and sometimes sheds tears due to sadness. The group of artists who form Khola have put the flow, waves and extreme pain of nature on the stage through acting.

The play 'Dalle Khola' seems compatible with the news of the loss of wealth caused by natural calamities with the arrival of rains. Now the river has started flowing again. The struggle of human life with this strange form of nature has started . In that sense, the story written by Parashuram is close to the current situation, nature and human struggle. Director Rai has once again created a debate on this topic raised by 'Dalle Khola' through ancient culture, music and life. The music of the play is sweet. Effort is visible in the light . However, the combination of music and dialogue is not seen in some scenes in this drama acted by a group of young actors .

When the artist speaks in a melodious voice, the music sounds louder. If the audience of Shilpi, who was shaking when the artist walked and jumped, had stood still, the attention would not have been distracted from the play at times!
