Due to the economic recession, the tendency of common consumers to save money and reduce expenses as much as possible has started to increase. The industries that are operating are running at 30 to 40 percent capacity only. In the case of many banks, just like the Nepal Rastra Bank adopted a policy of merger to balance the supply and demand in the industrial sector, a law should be brought and implemented immediately.

Bank interest should be maintained in single digits. Entrepreneurs and businessmen have been discouraged. Youth migration is increasing. 'State did not promote industry'

From access to health and education to marketing of products

Devendra Sahu

General Manager, Panchkanya Group of Industries

Industry Businesses are the backbone of the country's economy . For a country dependent on imports like Nepal, people who want to do industry should be encouraged to search. Due to the economic recession seen in the last 2 years, the decline in the government's ability to spend capital and the state's discriminatory tax policy, the industries that produce construction materials in this region have been directly hit. According to the global standards, while there is a provision of excise duty on the production of luxury goods that affect health and environment, in Nepal, excise duty is imposed only as a means of revenue collection, regardless of the nature of the goods .

5 percent customs duty and excise duty at the rate of 2500 per metric ton at the customs point on the import of iron rod raw material willets . But only 1 percent customs duty is levied on the import of sponge, while the excise duty is completely exempted . Due to this discriminatory policy brought to benefit only a limited number of industries while the induction furnaces that make rods from sponges are known to cause huge pollution in the environment, 5 iron rod industries in Rupandehi area have been closed and sold. Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has not been successful.

Acts, regulations and procedures have been made to manage the service delivery . Since the local level is the closest government to the citizens after federalism, if the local level can become good governance, everyone including the common people will continue to feel both federalism and the government.

'Priority on tourism and self-employment skills'

From access to health and education to marketing of products

Teknarayan Upadhyay

President, Susta Rural Municipality, Paschim Nawalparasi

Susta rural municipality is a municipality that has already fallen behind in terms of development. The country's attention is focused on the Narayanipari region, which is under the grip of Indian encroachment. However, it is my experience that this sector has been given less priority by the federal and state governments during budget allocation. However, we have tried to solve the problems of the people within the jurisdiction of the local government. As the land is fertile in the agricultural sector, we have built cold storage. It is our goal that most of the citizens are involved in agricultural profession and this will help in commercializing agriculture . Bridge construction work on Narayani river is almost completed . This also reduces the suffering of the citizens of Susta . Tourism and self-employment skills are prioritized.
