Since a few days, there has been heavy snow in Kathmandu due to low visibility, air flights and landings at Tribhuvan International Airport have started to be affected.
For a few days Chief and General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, Jagannath Niraula informed that due to the heavy rain in the sky of Kathmandu, the 'visibility' is reduced and the flights and landings are being carried out using the 'IFR' technique. He said, 'Flight/landing is being done by IFR technology after visibility is reduced due to thick clouds. Due to this, the management of the ship has been somewhat delayed compared to the previous one. The flight and landing have not been canceled yet.'
The general manager Niraula informed that there is a visibility of three thousand meters at the airport. According to him, today, two of Buddha Air's three mountain flights to Bhairawa, one to Janakpur and one each of Yeti Airlines and Shree Airlines have been 'diverted' to Bhairahawa due to heavy rain.
