Bharatpur Metropolitan City Chief Renu Dahal has said that Bharatpur or Chitwan district as a whole, which is known as the third tourist destination in the country, is likely to become the second tourist destination soon. He claims that Bharatpur has made a significant leap in tourism promotion, development and prosperity in the last seven years.
Speaking on the fourth and last session of 'Chitwan Chintan' organized by Kantipur Media Group in Chitwan on Thursday, Mayor Dahal said that according to the plan of balanced development in all sectors including road infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, education and health She mentioned that she has moved on.
'We are in a tough competition to make Bharatpur the third tourist destination in the country,' she said, 'If we can continue this trend in the future, there is a strong possibility that it will become the second tourist destination in Kathmandu.' And after Pokhara, Chitwan has a significant amount of tourists.
In order to get better results in the development of road infrastructure, the city chief Dahal declared that the road network is the first step in development. Saying that the road network has helped in improving the standard of living of the people, she added, "Yesterday, it used to take 2 hours to go to Meghauli from Bharatpur Bazar". If it used to take a day to go and come, now it takes half an hour . Its direct benefit has reached the citizens here.' In the
program, she said that along with promoting tourism, she is serious about creating a favorable environment to increase economic activity and attract investment in Bharatpur.
'We have announced Bharatpur Tourism Year 2024 with the aim of eradicating the widespread frustration due to the recent economic recession, making economic activities viable and encouraging the people of Bharatpur,' she said, 'to provide roads, electricity, IT facilities to attract investors. And we are trying to create a situation to make movement and stay safe. I request investors to invest in Bharatpur with confidence.'
