Finance Minister Varshman Pun has allocated 38 crores for cattle breed improvement and 400 crores for vaccine production.

Presenting the budget for the financial year 2081/82 in the joint house of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Pun said on Tuesday that he had introduced a breed improvement program to develop milk production and livestock. Similarly, he said that 50 million doses of vaccine will be produced to control livestock diseases. The government had announced to produce 66 million doses of vaccine domestically in the current financial year.

Similarly, in order to increase production and productivity through animal breed improvement, it was announced that artificial insemination services will be expanded to all local levels by producing 600,000 doses of semen of advanced breeds of cattle, bulls and boar goats in the coming year. However, it was not implemented.
