American Ambassador Dean R. Thompson said that the US is ready to partner with the Nepalese government and the private sector.
Speaking at the opening session held on Sunday at the Third Investment Conference, Ambassador Dean R. Thompson said, "In these 77 (diplomatic relations) years, America has promoted the economic growth of Nepal". And, it is committed to the economic future of Nepal.
He said that America is ready to help with more projects focused on women and marginalized communities as well as creating economic opportunities for all Nepalis. He said that America is helping to develop Nepal's high-tech sector by improving access to Nepal's private sector in financial services and business development services and improving the business environment, promoting a strong and more productive agricultural sector.
America's Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Donald Lu, in a video address, mentioned that Nepal will be supported to rise from a less developed country from 2026. On the same occasion, Alice Albright, Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), said through a video that work is being done on clean energy and transport and road infrastructure in Nepal under the MCC project.
Likewise, Samantha Power, administrator of the American Assistance Mission USAID, also discussed Nepal as an important place for investment through a video address and discussed various sectors.
