Finance Minister Barshman Pun has said that Nepal has become an attractive destination for international investment. At the opening session of the third international investment conference, Minister Pun, who is also the vice-chairman of the investment board, said that the main objective of the conference is to present Nepal as a destination.

He expressed his gratitude to the guests of the conference for coming to look for investment opportunities and possibilities at their call. He said that the purpose of the conference is to inform Nepal about the recent reforms in the regulatory sector to promote foreign and domestic investment and to exhibit detailed projects of various sectors including projects that are ready for investment. He said that during the conference, it was believed that there would be many agreements and understandings between investors and stakeholders, as well as agreements regarding project development and management. Minister Pune believes that the

conference will be an opportunity to exchange ideas among policy makers, investors, experts and other stakeholders as well as networking opportunities for cooperation in areas such as industry and infrastructure development. 

Minister Pun mentioned that Nepal's economic indicators are becoming stable and positive and that Nepal has recently achieved important achievements in the fields of clean energy, tourism, information technology, agriculture and agriculture-based industries. 

He said that domestic investment and market alone are not enough to achieve the goal of high economic growth and Nepal has emphasized on foreign investment promotion.

Pun appealed to invest with confidence saying that the success achieved by the foreign investors who are currently investing and the profit they have made will confirm that Nepal is the best destination for investment. 'Business environment  With the aim of improving and increasing investors' confidence, we have made various policy reforms', Minister Pun said, 'Policy and procedural hassles involved in starting a business have been improved, transparency and accountability in public governance has been ensured . This process will be continued in the coming days.' 

Minister Pun was clear that Nepal has adopted a policy of welcoming foreign investment as a catalyst for industrial development, infrastructure development, job creation, export promotion as well as transfer of knowledge, skills and technology.
