Voting has started in Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-12 under local level by-election-2081. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, voting started at 7 am.
Chief Electoral Officer Avani Mainali informed that the voters have been queuing since 4 am. With the election of Lalit Ghalan, the elected ward president from this ward, as the head of the district coordination committee, the election has started in the vacant position.
According to Hari Prasad Dhakal, Head of Wagmati State Election Office, there are a total of 8 thousand 53 voters in this ward. Compared to the local level elections of 2079, 1 thousand 588 voters have been added in the by-elections. There are 4,428 men and 3,625 women among
voters. Voting has been arranged at two places for voting. There are a total of 9 polling stations, 5 in Pratibha Mavi Sikreni and 4 in Bishnu Jyoti Mavi Bhorle.
There are 12 candidates for the post of Ward President are Among them, nine candidates are from different parties and three are independent candidates. Rajesh Nagarkoti from UML, Arjun Prasad Tiwari from Congress, Ravikumar Pradhan from Maoist Center, Ashaveer Bal from RSVP, Prem Bahadur Bholan from RPPA, Chabilal Waiba from JSPA, Deepa Lama from Mongolian National Organization, Phulmaya Titung from Nemkipa and Balaram Bal is a candidate from the United Samajwadi party.
Arjun Ghalan, Gitakumari Newar and Chhatraprakash Adhikari have also become candidates for the post of ward president.
