The parties have started door-to-door for the by-election of Gaurishankar rural municipality vice president to be held on November 16. After the death of Shyamsunder Tamang, who was elected from the Congress, the election is about to be held for the post of village vice president, which is vacant.
After finalizing the names of the candidates, the main parties have started door-to-door campaigns. The Congress has started the election campaign by appointing Tamang's wife Pasadiki Tamang as a candidate.

Similarly, the Maoist Center has started the election campaign by appointing Nimleki Sherpa as its candidate. Another party, the United Samajwadi Party, has nominated Ravina Khadka. The main contenders Congress, UML and Maoist Center have fielded women from the Sherpa community.
All the three female candidates in the election field belong to the Sherpa community. As the nomination registration date is approaching, the National Independent Party has not made any decision on whether or not to participate in the election until Friday. In the last election, Congress, Maoist Center and United Socialists contested the election by forming an alliance. In the
by-election, the main parties have entered the election competition alone. In the election of 2079, the candidate of the Maoist Center and the Congress candidate were victorious in Gaurishankar Rural Municipality for the chairmanship and vice chairmanship.
There are 15,341 voters in Gaurishankar, which has 9 wards and 12 polling stations. It is seen that the main competition will be between Congress, UML and Maoist Center for the vacant post of Vice President of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality.
