5 people working inside the control building of the 456 MW Upper Tamokosi Hydropower Project have gone missing. The Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Company has written a letter to the Garudadal Gana of the Nepali Army and requested them to be rescued.
The Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Company has requested that the condition of 5 persons is unknown and be rescued by helicopter.
The condition of 2 people from the Nepali army's Garudadal unit, 2 people from the company and one security guard is unknown, and the company has asked for immediate rescue by helicopter and other means.
Center head Purnagopal Ranjit said that the company will bear all the expenses of the helicopter used in the rescue operation. Landslides caused by incessant rains have damaged the structure (headworks) of the dam area of the project. Due to high water flow in upper Tamakoshi located in Bigu Rural Municipality-1 Lamabagar of Dolakha, electricity generation has been stopped from 7 pm on Friday.
