Poet Vimala Tumkheva is an established name in the world of poetry. There is also a tone of rebellion in his poems, which are soft in love and bold in issues.

Tumkheva's poetry collection 'Vimala Tumkheva's Poems' (2055), 'River, Waves and Waves' (2060), 'Memories of an Old Man' (2065), 'People Standing with Earth in Palms' (2075) and others have been published. Tumkheva is also the Central Chairman of Sancharika Group . Apart from poetry, she also writes stories, features and memoirs. The edited part of five questions done for e-Kantipur with the same poet Tumkheva is presented here :

How did you get used to reading books? Why is this important?

We are the generation that came into writing around the 2050s. The situation at that time was not the same as it is now. Books were also not easily available. The

technique was not easy. After one friend read a book, another friend would read it . That was good too . The generation before us came to writing in the 30s or 40s . The reading culture structure was very strong at that time . As for me, I started reading Maxim Gorky, Prakash Kovids .

After some time I read Parijat . Among the poets, I have been reading Vairagi Kaila and Madan Regmi.

"Mother" novel's Pavel character even now in the subconscious mind  It has managed to leave a kind of pressure and influence. Characters like Sakambari and Suyogaveer made a big impact in 'Shirishko Phool'. Since then, I have been continuously reading Nepali literature. It is also necessary to read to sharpen and sharpen oneself in thought . How does the habit of reading

affect personal and social life? Having the habit of reading

is like adding one brick to the same idea. Reading culture has a great impact on strengthening the overall communication, volume of the country .

book is such a medium, where all kinds of ideas and situations can be understood . Studies lead you to advance yourself towards manufacturing .

What is the most influential book in your life?

In the life of the writer, the maturity of his writing and the maturity of his ideas are gradually developing . At one time I liked Parijat's 'Shirishko Phool' the most . Later, the writings of Visveshwar Prasad Koirala kept touching .

Some writers came in the 30s . Whatever has been written in Nepali literature, it has not been built between its depth and the situation that can withstand the era. After the 50s, that kind of situation is gradually being created. We are all in a state of becoming. We are walking in a holistic way . It will take some time .

How to maintain the habit of reading books in the digital age ?

Now we are in the digital age . The impact of AI is also increasing . Now technology writes poetry. Now it is difficult to avoid the influence of social media. A person who writes has to read and think. We had to manage it ourselves. You have to discipline yourself in this situation .

We should allocate how much we can read in a week . I always have one book in my bag, one on the bed and one for the kitchen . I read like that . Even so, they miss reading the latest books.  It will be difficult if we can't be updated about what kind of book is coming.  If we can make a guideline to read at least one book in a week, we can keep the reading culture alive.

Which book do you recommend to the new generation to read? I suggest a new face in reading to read all the books set in Nepal at least once. Then only start writing, I say .

was not the author who broke the standard in Nepali literature .  Writing different literature is a common challenge for everyone. For that, everyone has to read . Only after reading can create your own vision .
