”I sold the car to pay the loan taken for my mother's treatment”

I am now 24 years old. Even now, I am doing what I can to do in the morning and evening. I am a person who believes that you should sweat in your own place. It has been eight or nine years since he started doing seasonal trade in thela in Gulria market.

People like us don't get festivals like rich people. At this time, I see the excitement of the festival everywhere. People are rushing to buy new clothes and other things needed for the festival in the market. However, no matter how big the festival is, a poor family like us does not feel any joy.

We are only worried about how to do our business, how to meet the household expenses by carrying carts from village to village. With that worry, I am busy with my work from the morning till the evening. I don't have free time to care about the world except my work .

There is a house in Gulria Municipality-6 Shiv Mandir Village. I am now 24 years old. Due to the financial status of the family, it was not possible to get a good job after studying. Due to poverty, I was able to study up to class 3 . Apart from the house, the land is nothing. Even now, I am doing my best to put my hand in the morning and evening . I am a person who believes that you should sweat in your own place . It has been eight to nine years since they started doing seasonal trade in thela in Gulria market.

I have started an ice cream business for the past one week. I started the business by investing two lakh rupees for this business. I will buy and bring the necessary items for ice cream from Nepalganj, which is 35 km east of Gulria . I get up early in the morning and prepare the stuff .

It takes about 1/2 of the afternoon to prepare the ice cream stuff alone from the morning . I keep the prepared ice cream in a bag and go from village to village till evening. On Saturdays and Tuesdays of the week, I sell two items, ice-cream and almond shake, in front of the vegetable market located in Gulria Municipality-7. On other days, I go from village to village and sell them. One day I will sell ice cream in the square near the district police office.

Earlier I used to sell ice balls, panipuri and chatpaty in thela . It is not enough to sit idle and play daily gambling. I trade baskets according to the season .

It's been about a year and a half since my mother passed away . Mother was a heart patient . His treatment cost a lot. Even after reaching Nepalgunj and various places in India for treatment, we were very sad because we could not save our mother. Earlier I had my own car and used to drive it myself . I sold the car because I couldn't pay the loan taken for my mother's treatment. The loan taken from relatives for treatment is still 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees to be paid . Now I am slowly paying off the loan by trading in baskets.

We have a family of four. Father, brother, sister-in-law and me . I am not married yet . Now father puts a basket of chaat in front of the house . In the course of such employment, the brother is going to India. After my mother passed away, I did not get along with my father . I now live alone in a rented house . I am living on rent in a room located in Gularia municipality-6.

I earn 5/6 hundred daily by carrying baskets all day . I am making my living by paying off the loan from this income . Did not have to clap hands to anyone . Room rent should be paid 2 thousand 500 per month . The electricity bill does not come less than 2 thousand per month . Similarly, about 8,000 will be spent on rice, pulses, salt, oil, vegetables, spices, clothes, soap and soap. Life seems like a journey of struggle . It is felt that the struggle has made us self-reliant today .
