Many friends of my age are working as laborers in India, some are sweating in the Gulf, while I am driving a motorcycle in the village and delivering services while earning two or four paise.
After taking the manavchola, it should be changed according to time. Otherwise, life will be in vain. It is necessary to make a living. I am now 42 years old. Many friends of my age are working in India. Some are now sweating it out in the Gulf countries. I am also delivering services in the village by driving a motorcycle and earning 2/4 money.
Horses and mules were the means of household expenses. Now this is the motorcycle. With this, I am running household expenses well.
My house is in Pancheswar ̵1 Paldi in Baitadi. When someone asks me what is your job, there is no clear answer . I reply that I am a porter carrying people . People are surprised to hear this. Later I remind them that I will carry people on a motorcycle and not on my back.
It has been five years since they started transporting people on motorcycles. It is my daily routine to deliver to the time and place requested by the village residents . In this way, I will gladly take as much as I give to get to the destination.
Now many people like me are carrying people on motorcycles . Therefore, we have fixed the fare according to the place . When the customer asks for the fare, I will tell the fare according to the place . But, to some, I also say 'how much you want to give above' . What fare to the sad patient ? Even if I don't give, I remember the service .
Before starting this job, I returned from working in a hotel in India for 6 years . Even after working in India, household expenses continued. Even though I was working well in another country, I returned to my village after being scolded by my boss. At that time, the road did not reach our village. Horses were used to carry the bride and groom when going to Janti. I did this by buying a horse with the money I earned in a hotel in India . In the off-season, I used to use horses to carry goods of merchants and patients. It was making good money. There was some savings along with household expenses.
With the proceeds from the sale of the horse and the savings, I bought two mules . I worked on a mule to carry merchant's goods, sand, cement and stone used for building houses . This earned more than two thousand a day. It made my household run well. I have 6 children and a wife . I got my eldest daughter married .
I studied only up to class 8 . The financial condition of the house was poor. Although I wanted to study the rest, I couldn't study due to the financial situation of the house . I understand the importance of education very well . So I am teaching all the children.
Horses and mules were earning well. Local, state and union elections were held. People's representatives were elected. Roads were built in villages. With the introduction of road networks, the days of heavy carrying by mules are gone. The house building materials carried on mules started to be carried on tractors. Traders' goods started reaching shops in trucks and jeeps. I also had to change with the times . And sold the mule and bought a motorcycle. Get the license you need to drive a motorcycle. Now it earns up to 1/2 thousand a day.
I have also taken out a loan from the cooperative to buy a new motorcycle. House expenses and petrol expenses will be covered by this . But it is difficult to pay the interest of the cooperative. Although not much progress can be made from this, the household expenses have been going on . I have been able to take care of the house in the morning and evening. I have been able to walk with relatives and friends. I am satisfied with this. They call me Zhyaure with love . They call my motorcycle a jhyaure transport .
