The central government on Monday formally responded to the demands of the youth who have been protesting in the Indian capital Delhi for almost a month. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda informed that there was a cordial conversation with a representative of the Kakroch Janata Party (CJP).
Sharing a picture of the meeting with CJP spokespersons Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, Minister Nadda wrote on social media, 'This morning, for the first time, a proposal for talks with the government came from the protesters. Our talks have been going on since 11:50 am. The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. First, there was a detailed verbal discussion with the delegation, after which they gave me a written demand at 4 pm.' Minister Nadda also said that he requested the administration to help end the protest and restore normalcy.
CJP spokesperson Das informed that he and Ranka have been at Nadda's residence since 12 noon and said, 'The demands of the protesters, including the immediate resignation or dismissal of Dharmendra Pradhan, have been placed before him. The minister has assured to discuss these demands at the appropriate level. But no concrete commitment has been made so far. The peaceful protesters will not retreat until the demands are met.'
Earlier, he had also informed about the demands placed before Minister Nadda. The important demands they have raised are the immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of all NEET candidates who committed suicide.
