Abhijit Deepke, founder of the Kakroch Janata Party (CJP), has broken his fast to death. He ended his hunger strike on Monday. On Saturday, Deepke began his fast to death after educationist, environmental activist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital by the police from her hunger strike at Jantar Mantar.
According to information given by CJP to X, Deepke broke his fast at the request of the father of a student of the National Entrance Test (NEET) for medical higher education. Earlier, Abhijit's father Bhagwan Deepke had also said that he was worried about his son's health. Earlier, three students of AISA, who had been on an indefinite hunger strike along with Wangchuk since June 28, have also broken their fast, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Pradhan and reforms in the examination and education system.
Meanwhile, CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das had informed that he and Ashutosh Ranka had gone to talk to Union Health Minister JP Nadda. Although spokesperson Das informed about this in X around 12 pm, there has been no update on the talks.
Security personnel have made arrests during the 'Chalo Sansad' march in New Delhi on Monday on the call of CJP. Security personnel have tried to stop the marchers who had gathered in large numbers at Jantar Mantar when they were about to go to the Parliament building. According to Indian media, the police have even resorted to lathicharge to disperse the participants in the march. Delhi Police has been saying that permission cannot be given for the march. Even though the monsoon session of Parliament has started since Monday, the protesters want to reach the Parliament building and put forward their demands.
Leaders of various opposition parties have also reached the march. Azad Samajwadi Party (Kashiram) chief Chandrashekhar Azad, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and other leaders are also participating in the march. Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party leaders Atishi, Manish Sisolia, Sanjay Singh and other leaders, who are also former Chief Ministers of Delhi, are also participating in the march.
Actors including Prakash Raj, Sabana Azmi, Vishal Dadlani, Sonakshi Sinha, Swara Bhaskar have also expressed support for the students' movement. Delhi Police has claimed that around 8,000 people participated in the CJP march.
