Iran's army chief Amir Hatami has warned of "decisive" revenge for the assassination of Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike. Iran confirmed the death of the country's Supreme National Security Council secretary Ali Larijani on Tuesday. Earlier, Israel had claimed to have killed Larijani. "At the right time and place, a decisive response will be given to the criminal America and the bloodthirsty Zionist regime (Israel) that will serve as a lesson to others," Hatami said in a statement, adding, "They will regret their actions." He said the death of Larijani and other martyrs would be avenged. Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said it had fired missiles into central Israel in retaliation for Larijani's death. The IRGC is a separate organization within Iran's military.
