The Taliban government in Afghanistan has said that women and children were killed in an airstrike by Pakistan. It has also warned of retaliation at the appropriate time.

Pakistan had said that it had carried out airstrikes on seven militant camps in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area, citing intelligence information.

A Taliban government spokesman said that about 20 people were killed in the attacks in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, BBC Hindi reported. The same number of people were killed in an attack on a house in Nangarhar. Similarly, a madrasa was targeted in Paktika.

The Taliban government's defense ministry issued a statement condemning the attacks on "civilian areas" in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces.

Pakistan said that the attacks were in response to recent suicide attacks in its country.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban government to take concrete action against the terrorist group, but has not done anything about it. Similarly, Pakistan has also been urging the Taliban government to prevent terrorists from using its land.
