France has announced that Palestine will be recognized as an independent state. French President Emmanuel Macron has said that in September of this year, he will formally recognize Palestine as an independent country.

According to President Macron, it will be formally announced at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. "The greatest need today is to end the war in Gaza and save its citizens." Peace is possible. We want an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and the delivery of massive humanitarian aid to Gaza,' he said in X .

Macron's announcement has been welcomed by Palestinian officials. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly criticized. He said France's announcement was 'like awarding terrorism .' Macron said that France is committed to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East. He said, 'Based on this, France will recognize Palestine as a nation.'

America has already responded to Macron's announcement . US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that this will only promote the propaganda of the Hamas group. He wrote in X, "The United States opposes Emmanuel Macron's announcement to recognize Palestine as a nation at the United Nations General Assembly."

According to the data of the World Population Review , about 140 countries in the world have recognized Palestine as an independent country. All the countries of the Arab group, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the countries supporting the Non-Aligned Movement have accepted Palestine as an independent state. Only last year, Ireland, Norway and Spain announced the recognition of Palestine as an independent nation.   Most Western and European countries have not given Palestine the status of an independent country. Power countries like America, Britain, France, Germany and Australia have said that the Middle East will be resolved through peace talks, but they have not shown readiness.
