Kerch Bridge, which connects Russia with Crimea by rail and road, has exploded. This is the third explosion on this bridge, which is a vital supply route for Moscow's army. CNN has mentioned that the bridge was damaged by detonation of explosives placed under water.
In recent months, Russia has been moving military weapons to Crimea to attack Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said in a telegram that the pillars of the bridge were detonated at 4:44 a.m. on Tuesday.
CNN has said that 1100 kg of explosives were used in the underwater pillars. Although it is not clear how much damage was done to the bridge due to the explosion, the traffic on the bridge was stopped on Tuesday morning. But the evening has resumed operation.
In 2014, after occupying Crimea, Russia started building this bridge . Which was inaugurated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018. Through this bridge, built at a cost of about 3.7 billion dollars, Russia is sending military supplies and food to the forces fighting against Ukraine.
If this bridge is destroyed, the Ukrainian side claims that the supply service of essential materials for the Russian army will be affected.
