With the government's decision to shut down social networks, the number of people searching for virtual private networks (VPNs) on Google has increased.

Looking at Google Trends, its graph appears to have increased by 10 pm on Thursday . Similarly, the search for the word 'VPN' seems to be increasing on Friday. Looking at the graph it is still increasing .

According to Google Trends, the word VPN is searched for in central Nepal. The most searched terms on Google are VPN for Laptop, VPN for iPhone, VPN for Facebook 

SP Deepakraj Awasthi, the spokesperson of the cyber bureau of the police, said that when using VPN, the data on the device will be unsafe. He said there is a possibility that free-to-use VPN providers may collect data and information unauthorized and sell it to third parties. Stating that many cases of crimes have been reported to the bureau through the use of VPN, he said, 'VPN is not safe.'
