He has now scored eight goals in the tournament, one more than France's Kylian Mbappe and Norway's Erling Haaland in the all-time list of top scorers. This is Messi's 21st goal in World Cup history.
In the third minute of injury time, Enzo Fernandez scored to give Argentina victory. He headed in a cross from Lautaro Martinez.
