The Ministry of Youth and Sports has sent a letter with a warning to the National Sports Council (NSC) for not taking action on the complaint filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority against the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

The ministry has sent a letter to the NSC seeking an explanation regarding the action taken against CAN. According to the letter sent by the ministry to the NSC on 23 Baisakh, it has sought a response from the NSC for ignoring the complaint filed with the Commission and the instructions given by the Commission to conduct an internal investigation.

In the letter sent by the ministry, the Commission has warned the NSC for not taking action and suspending the NC as per the letters sent by the Commission on 2081/08/16 and 2081/11/21.

Warning letter to NSC for not taking action against CAN The ministry has also directed the NSC to seek an explanation from the NCC as to why it will not take action as per Section 29 of the Act and submit a reply along with the necessary documents. The ministry has also directed the NCC to take action as per this final warning.

An investigation committee formed under the leadership of then NSC board member Ranjana Pradhan had concluded that the first edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) had been conducted without a tender and had committed procedural errors. It also alleged that CAN had not provided documents during the investigation.
