The World Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Sunday directed the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to hold the postponed elections within 7 days. In a letter sent jointly by both organizations, it has also been warned that the suspension process will be taken forward if the elections are not held within the seven-day deadline.

For this, the ANFA issue will be submitted to the FIFA Council. The letter from FIFA and AFC also states that their member associations can carry out their activities freely without any interference from third parties. Earlier, the National Sports Council had suspended ANFA for three months.

The NSC did not accept the decision of the 'early election' that ANFA was to hold. After the NSC's suspension, the ANFA elections scheduled to be held in Jhapa on Chaitra 13 were also postponed. FIFA and AFC have called the work of the NSC a third-party intervention and have also stated that serious consequences will arise if the problem is not resolved in time.

Meanwhile, ANFA has also issued a press release on Sunday, demanding that the NSC cancel or revoke the suspension decision. In the meantime, the NSC has also asked for a written assurance to start the electoral process from the pre-suspension status.
