Jhapa Rural Municipality of Jhapa has won the title of the second fair volleyball tournament organized at Osagu Bazaar, the junction of Falgunanda Rural Municipality 6 and 7 in Panchthar.
Jhapa won the title by defeating its rival, Fedap Rural Municipality of Tehrathum, in the final match held on Sunday. With this victory, Jhapa won Rs 133,000 in cash and a trophy, while Fedap won Rs 80,000 in prizes and trophies.
The inter-municipal volleyball tournament organized by Triveni Youth Club began on Kartik 6. Eight local levels, including 1 each from Jhapa, Taplejung and Tehrathum and 5 from Panchthar, participated.
The winning and runner-up teams and players of the tournament were presented with trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes by the chief guest of the closing ceremony and former Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of Koshi Province, Indra Bahadur Angwo, and special guest, former Chairman of Falgunanda Rural Municipality, Bir Bahadur Kurumwang.
This tournament has been running continuously since 2034 BS. Which is being defined as the most watched competition in Koshi Province and with the largest prize money.
