Kathmandu Gurkhaz will bat first against Lumbini Lions in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket match on Wednesday. Gurkhaz captain Karan KC chose to bat after winning the toss at the Trivi Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Two changes have been made to Gurkhaz's team. Dipesh Kandel replaces Shankar Rana and Dan Dwathewaite replaces Nathan Souter. Lumbini has replaced Durgesh Gupta with Surya Tamang. Fast bowler Durgesh was injured while fielding when Lumbini defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 33 runs on Tuesday.

Gurkhaz have won only 1 out of 3 matches. Gurkhaz needs to win this game to reach the playoffs. Led by Nepali national team captain Rohit Paudel, Lumbini has won only 1 out of 5 matches and the team is almost out of the playoff race .
