Sobita Gautam has been elected as the Vice President of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Dr. Toshima Karki was defeated and Gautam won the post of Vice President.

Gautam got 789 votes while Karki got 572 votes in the election held on Friday for office bearers. Gautam, who is also the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, was previously the party's central secretariat. The RSSS Election Commission will formally announce the results soon.

Swarnim Wagle, who was also the Finance Minister earlier, has been elected as the Vice President unopposed. Only about 1,300 delegates voted for the office bearers. Other delegates have already returned home, citing delays in the general convention and poor management.
