If all the work had been done on time, the first general convention of the National Independent Party (RSP) in Bharatpur would have ended on Tuesday. But since the work did not start as per the schedule from the beginning, not only has the day of the convention been delayed, but the management expenses have also increased.
Rajan Gautam, coordinator of the Accommodation and Food Management Committee, said that the party had arranged lunch and food for the delegates on Monday and Tuesday from the inauguration to the closing session. He informed that an agreement has been reached with the hotel for catering services for the additional days after the convention was extended.
The RSP had arranged breakfast and two meals for 6,000 people daily for Monday and Tuesday. Gautam said that about 6,000 people, including party representatives, other guests and security personnel, had eaten lunch and dinner daily. He said, 'It seems that at least Rs 5 million will be spent daily for the additional days.'
Some delegates had expressed their anger, saying that there was a problem in managing expenses due to the extension of the general convention. Therefore, during the inauguration of the closed session, party president Ravi Lamichhane had announced that the representative registration fee would be made optional.
There is a provision that party delegates have to pay a registration fee of five thousand rupees. He had said that making it optional would provide some relief to delegates who were facing difficulties due to expenses.
