Congress President Gagan Thapa said that in the past, old parties have suffered accidents due to the frenzy of public opinion. Addressing the inaugural session of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general convention in Bharatpur on Sunday, President Thapa said that the public opinion received by the RSS was tempting.
'The public opinion received by the RSS is tempting. I would like to praise it openly,' he said.
Stating that Nepal's political parties have received large public opinions in the past as well, Thapa said, 'There was a clash between the egos of the leaders, there was a clash between individuals.' Due to which the accident occurred. The public opinion was understood in this way that the public opinion gave power, but it was not understood that there are limits to power. That led to the frenzy of power, due to which we started behaving undemocratically. Due to which the public opinion suffered an accident. The RSS should not have to face both these situations.'
