The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee has asked the then vice-president of the party, Purna Bahadur Khadka, to submit an explanation within 7 days. The meeting held at BP Smriti Bhawan in Lalitpur under the coordination of committee coordinator Taraman Gurung on Wednesday decided to demand an explanation, concluding that Khadka had issued a press release using the party's fake letterpad and was unauthorized. When Kantipur spoke to him about the party's request for an explanation, he said that the special general convention and the working committee elected from it were illegal and that it was pointless to ask him for an explanation. He said, 'It is pointless, ridiculous and meaningless to ask for an explanation from any working committee formed from the illegal special general convention.' His statement is as follows: The Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress elected by the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, stating that the decision made by the Election Commission regarding the Nepali Congress at the then Sanepa Central Party Office is against the Constitution of Nepal, against the prevailing law, against the Act on Political Parties, against the statute of the Nepali Congress, and against the established precedent of decisions made by the Election Commission regarding similar matters regarding parties in the past, as illegal, unconstitutional, unlawful, contrary to the party statute, and contrary to precedent. The Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress has authorized me as the Acting President to go to the Supreme Court against the decision of the Election Commission on this matter, and that case is pending before the Supreme Commission.
The special general convention was illegal, and the working committee elected from the illegal special general convention went to court saying that it was illegal. It is known that the special general convention was illegal in the Falgun 21 election and that the working committee and office bearers elected from it, did not go to contest the election on the grounds that it would be politically immoral to contest the election on a ticket signed by an illegal office bearer.
This has already been said publicly at that time. And the case is currently pending in the Supreme Court. Therefore, we believe that we will get justice from the Supreme Court.
The oldest political party in Nepal, the current situation of the country, the country's democracy, the country's constitution, we believe that the esteemed Supreme Court will soon decide this case. In this background, when I went to court as the acting president and when I am currently fighting that case as the acting president, it is absurd, ridiculous and meaningless for any working committee formed from that illegal special general convention, any organization to ask for an explanation.
Whatever decision the esteemed Supreme Court gives, we must accept it and the Nepali Congress must move forward accordingly, and it will move forward.
