UML MP Bishnumaya BK has said that there has been violence against women through social media. Speaking in the House of Representatives on Monday, she said that women have been subjected to cyber attacks. MP BK objected to the cyber attacks and violence against Amisa Parajuli in recent days.

Amisa Parajuli had taken to the streets in a protest organized by UML after former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was arrested from his home on March 14. At that time, she had said, ‘Arresting Oli is illegal. ‘No one is above the law.’ After this statement spread on social media, Amisa was subjected to hatred, threats and obscene abuse on social media. In this context, MP BK said that this incident should be opposed. MP BK said that UML was also attacked through social media during the elections. She said, ‘Social media should be regulated.’

She also demanded the unconditional release of former Home Minister, writer and former Prime Minister Oli. She said, "There is no way they are going to escape. They are not even in power. Therefore, they should be released immediately."
