Jhabilal Dumre, the candidate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been elected in Constituency No. 2 of Syangja, trailing his nearest rival by 4,524 votes. Dumre of the RSSP secured 25,354 votes.
Congress' Bhagwat Prakash Malla became the runner-up by getting 20,830 votes. Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Khim Bahadur Thapa came third by getting 14,108 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Resham Bishwakarma came fourth with 848 votes.
There were 117,930 voters in Syangja-2. Of these, 64,928 votes were cast. Of the votes cast, 62,266 were valid and 2,662 were invalid.
There were 12 candidates in the race, including 10 parties and two independents. Dume was previously active in his own business.
