CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has claimed that the BBC's documentary on Nepal's Gen-G movement is 'living proof of geopolitical manipulation'.

The BBC released a 42-minute documentary on the Gen-G movement on Thursday. Reacting to it on social media, he said on Facebook that any attempt to exert external influence on Nepal's internal politics is unacceptable.  'The BBC documentary released on the eve of the election is not just a media material - it is living proof of geopolitical manipulation,' Pokharel wrote. 'Any attempt to exert external influence on the internal political process of a sovereign nation like Nepal is unacceptable. Is the publication of such material at the sensitive time of the election just a coincidence or a planned intervention?' He also mentioned that information should be free, and the time context and objectives should be transparent. Pokharel also said that Nepal should not be allowed to be used in the game of geopolitical pressure and 'propaganda.'
