UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that 'Ballen was trapped by Ravi's cunning'.
Oli, who is also a former Prime Minister, is the candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives elections from Jhapa-5. In the same constituency, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has fielded former Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen). Oli alleged that RSS President Ravi Lamichhane had thrown him into a pit from which he could not get out, saying that he would later make him the Prime Minister. 'He has a habit of being stubborn, Ravi's cunning led him here and trapped him,' he said. Oli also accused Balen of not having made any contribution. 'What do you mean by his doing this work, this history, this contribution, this sacrifice? Is there anything that says that he has done so much to bring democracy to this country, that he has done so much to bring development? If so, I am not aware of it,' Oli said in an interview with Kantipur. 'Rather, he must have driven a dozer in the slums of squatters. People should not have been allowed to live near the river banks.'
He also said that Balen's candidacy will not have any impact . Oli said that there is no one in Jhapa who is a Bale, and he wanted to help .
