Kundan Raj Kafle, who resigned from the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, will not be allowed to run as a candidate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
In his district, i.e. Dolakha constituency, the Congress gave a ticket to Ajay Babu Shiwakoti, leaving him without a ticket. Kafle resigned from his post as a Provincial Assembly member
on Monday to become a candidate. Shiwakoti is a close associate of Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa. Kafle is also the former Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning of the province. Shiwakoti, who is also a former journalist, is a central member of the Congress.
