The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and the Democratic Samajwadi Party (DSP) have been formally registered with the Party Unification Commission.

After the merger, 110 proportional candidates of the LSP have withdrawn their names.

After the merger, the party's name will remain JSP Nepal and the election symbol will remain the umbrella. Now the party's chairman will be Upendra Yadav and patron Mahantha Thakur.

As per the agreement reached in Kathmandu, a 43-member Central Coordination Committee has been formed to run JSP Nepal in an integrated manner. The same committee will form an 11-member Secretariat. JSP Nepal and LSP had agreed to merge the parties on 13 Poush.
