The inquiry commission formed into the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 has lifted the curfew imposed on former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The commission had reached Oli's residence in Gundu on Sunday and recorded his statement. Commission member Vigyanraj Sharma said that the venue was lifted after the statement was completed.
Former Prime Minister Oli had reached Singha Durbar before the statement, raising questions about the inquiry commission, and had said that he would not give a statement. The commission, however, was adamant that it would take the statement anyway. The commission had sent a signal that it would accept the statement even if it was submitted in writing. Oli had also sent a reply that he was ready to submit it in writing. After that, the commission team arrived on Sunday with a letter.
