3 new parties added after election announcement, 17 applications for party registration submitted to the commission

Since the announcement of the House of Representatives elections, people from the old to the new generation have been preparing to form parties and compete in the elections. Three new parties have been registered with the Election Commission since the announcement of the elections.

The Shram Sanskriti Party led by Dharan Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Harkaraj Rai, the Rastriya Janmukti Party, which split from the Nepal Janmukti Party, and the Janaswaraj Party, which split from the Janmat Party, have been registered with the Commission. With the addition of these parties, the number of parties registered with the Commission has reached 125. Similarly, 17 applications for party registration received in the last fiscal year and since the Gen-G movement are pending in the Commission. The Commission is yet to decide on 9 applications for party registration received in the last fiscal year. The process has not progressed on those applications due to non-fulfillment of the necessary documents.

Similarly, while the Rai-led party has received certificates in 10 applications received since the Gen-G movement, another party has applied not to proceed with the process, due to which the Commission is yet to decide on only 8 applications. The Shram Sanskriti Party led by Dharan Mayor Rai received party registration certificates on Sunday. Senior advocate Surendra Bhandari had filed an application for registration of Nepal Nagarik Party, but the Commission has postponed it after he filed another application to not proceed with the process. The two newly added parties were registered with the Commission after the party split.

Yagya Bhattarai, head of the Commission's Political Party Management Division, said that the eight applications for registration of new parties are currently being studied and necessary documents are being collected. The Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav), the Dynamic Democratic Party led by Buddha Air owner Birendra Basnet with Dinesh Raj Prasai as its president, and the Nepal Liver Party led by Gopilal Neupane are in the registration process.

Similarly, Ajay Kumar Rai has filed the Rastriya Parivartan Party, Hira Prasad Seti has filed the Rastriya Gen-G Party, and Resham Chaudhary has filed the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal. He has started the process of registering new parties after the controversy over the Nagarik Unmukti Party did not end. Former Ambassador Nawaraj Subedi, a former leader of the Janamorcha, has applied for registration of the Nawayug Party. Earlier in Shrawan, Gyan Bahadur Tamang had applied for registration of the Ujjaj Nepal Party.
