The appointment of Ganapati Lal Shrestha, one of the four ministers recommended by Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday, has also been put on hold.
Shrestha was recommended for the post of Tourism Minister, but after discussing with some ministers and officials from her secretariat, Karki came to the conclusion that Shrestha should not be given the responsibility of Tourism Minister, but rather the responsibility of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister. An hour after the initial recommendation, a revised recommendation to appoint Shrestha as Land Minister was sent to the President's Office. However, after Shrestha expressed dissatisfaction with it, his appointment was postponed at the request of the Prime Minister.
