Nepali Congress General Ministers Gagan Kumar Thapa and Vishwa Prakash Sharma are going to take the proposal for regular convention. Thapa and Sharma are preparing to take a proposal to hold a regular convention by the end of December in the office bearer meeting of the party to be held on Thursday.

While according to their wishes, the signatures of more than 40 percent of the convention delegates required for the special convention have already been collected.

President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a functionary meeting today regarding the subject of the agenda to be presented in the meeting of the Central Working Committee starting from Sunday.  Official meeting is being held on Thursday at Hotel Himalaya in Kupandol.  According to

leaders, General Ministers Thapa and Sharma, who previously raised the issue of holding a special convention, have prepared to take a proposal to hold a regular convention in November in today's official meeting to prepare for the central committee meeting.

An official said that since the residence of Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba was destroyed by the protestors during the Gen-G movement and the party office in Sanepa was also set on fire, today's official meeting is being held at Hotel Himalaya.

spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat said that there will be extensive discussions within the party about how to proceed in the current situation, including elections, restoration of parliament, and internal reforms within the party. He said that there will be a discussion within the party about the regular convention and the signatures being run for the special convention. 

It has not yet been clarified whether Chairman Deuba himself will attend today's officers' meeting. Another one near Devan  The office bearer said that there is a discussion about giving authority to conduct the meeting to Vice Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka and not the chairman himself or whether he will be present and return soon. "The chairman may not go to the meeting, he can delegate authority to conduct the meeting in his absence," said the official.
