Majority of the representatives of the UML legislative convention have voted that former president Vidya Bhandari should not enter active politics.
The representatives of all the 10 teams who expressed their opinion on the political, organizational report and legislative draft presented at the convention saying that the decision of the Central Committee was positive, asked Bhandari to stay in an honorable position saying that the dignity of the position will be affected if the former president comes into active politics. The team leaders of all the groups have expressed this opinion while submitting their group report .
UML campaign division head Rajendra Gautam said that the ex-president was strongly opposed to not entering into active politics. "When the respected ex-president comes to active politics, there is a shock in the respect . Therefore, there is an overwhelming opinion that one should not enter into active politics," he said.
