This festival, which preserves local religious and cultural traditions, has been continuously held for 29 years.
A musical instrument in front, an artistic chariot decorated with flags and holy mantras behind, and the echo of 'Jai-Jaikar'. This is the scene seen on Sunday in the premises of the Shri Vishnu Temple in Palanti, Bahrabise Municipality. Where the picture and idol of Lord Ranganath were decorated as the groom and Goddess Godamma as the bride and were married. Thousands of devotees attended the wedding of Lord Ranganath and Godamma, participated in the festival by circumambulating the chariot.
‘धनुर्मास अवधिभर दैनिक बिहान–बेलुका भगवान्लाई दाल–चामल पकाएर चढाइने परम्परा छ, नियमित पूजा–अर्चनासहित धार्मिक विधि सम्पन्न गरिन्छ,’ पौडेलले भने । महोत्सवअन्तर्गत विष्णु मन्दिरबाट सुरु भएको रथ परिक्रमा सुनकोशी महादेव मन्दिर, बाह्रबिसे बजार, खोर्सानीवारी, खाग्दल, ठूली पलाँती र क्षमादेवी मन्दिर हुँदै पुनः विष्णु मन्दिर प्राङ्गणमा पुगेर समापन भएको थियो । स्थानीय धार्मिक तथा सांस्कृतिक परम्पराको संरक्षण गर्दै आएको यो महोत्सव २९ वर्षदेखि निरन्तर रूपमा सञ्चालन हुँदै आएको छ ।
