Delusions of innate superiority

Despite some criticism of Prithvi Narayan Shah, no one can deny his heroism in shaping modern Nepal. It seems that he is trying to take a stand by saying that 'my small sorrows are not a country of need', although the historical role of the Nepali people in the unification campaign cannot be underestimated. The country was built on the foundation of people's strong support, attachment and sacrifice. Prithvi Narayan Shah had the will, determination and plan to build a country. Tragically, those dreams and plans were never understood by his earthly successors.

LF Stiller called Prithvi Narayan Shah's divination as principles of government, military, defence, trade and development. Apart from the glorification of the royal family, the points of the sermon are of far-reaching importance. Authors and researchers consider Divyapodesh as the first concept of national security of Nepal. In this way, it seems that Nepal has surpassed many countries in the world in creating the concept of national security. But the question arises, how much of the vision mentioned in the prophecy was implemented? What did his Jahanian successors do when they ruled for 237 years? This topic has been discussed again.

Prithvi Narayan Shah clearly pointed out the geopolitical risks and possibilities by defining Nepal as a 'jam between two stones'. He drew a rakshasutra with them saying 'Don't do Jai Cuttack, Don't do Jhiki Cuttack', showing that the then East India Company (present-day India) is very smart.

always tight

After the death of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the country had to suffer irreparable losses due to the child who was seen in the palace as the king, the self-centered competition on who would take the viceroy, which queen's son would be made the king, etc. When such a trend prevailed in the government, at one time Nepal was limited to Mechi-Mahakali of 'Tista in the East and Fort Kangra in the West'. Not only that, tragic incidents like warriors who fought for the country were humiliated and died of starvation. A case in point is the death of Prithvi Narayan Shah's only true heir, Bahadur Shah (who was deprived of kingship because he had no first child), a member of the royal family. That cycle did not stop even when it reached the last king of the Shah dynasty, Gyanendra.

Kotparva and the rise of Jung Bahadur imprisoned the country for a century within the tunnels of two Jahaniyas. As a result, Nepal came to the weak place of making unequal treaties in 1950 and 'Secret Arms Agreement' in 1965. After Tribhuvan chose Palpa and took refuge in Delhi, India always dominated the Nepal issue. As a result, only the Indian representatives attended the cabinet meetings held after 2007. In order to push the very existence of the country into crisis, foreign troops were brought in, and foreign military checkpoints were allowed to be established in stages.

Patriotism and betrayal

On June 31, 1950, an unequal peace and friendship treaty was signed with India. India sent another letter on July 31 called 'Letter of Exchange with the Treaty', citing the treaty itself as an integral part. The letter was kept secret for nine years. It came to light only after Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru held a press conference in Delhi on December 3, 1959. In one letter, the country was seriously deceived by being misled for nine years, in the second letter, Nepal's sovereignty was taken away by adding unacceptable issues such as the need to obtain India's permission when purchasing military materials, giving priority to the Indian side in Nepal's natural resources and industrial projects, by further restricting Articles 5 and 6 of the treaty. Not only that, the then King Mahendra ignored the issue of the seizure of Kalapani by the Indian Army in 1962. It is said, 'Mahendra made Kalapani bargains to maintain the panchayat imposed on the country.' In this way, it was not others but the kings who did the anti-patriotic acts like making the country a playground for foreigners, making unequal treaties, erasing land from the country's map, and pushing the country into an endless series of border disputes.

Prithvi Narayan Shah's statement that 'Praja Mota Bhaya Darbar remains strong' was not accepted by his successors. Neither did they allow the people to grow fat or strong, nor did they make the people the owners of the store. He became a steward himself, left the country. They did not create an environment for the people's potential to blossom. He always treated the people with kindness. Young scientists Gehendra Shamsher, Subba Krishnalal and popular artist Praveen Gurung are just a few examples. People's security, an integral part of national security, did not become their agenda. To protect the friendship of the British over the safety of Nepal and the Nepali people, they considered themselves brave when they put "unfit of standard" in the country's army to engage the young men in a careless fight. In the last century, their anti-people attitude increased. The successors of Tribhuvan, who completed the Constituent Assembly in 2007, did not accept that issue until the monarchy remained. On the contrary, he started conspiring to win the Panchayat in 2037 and strengthen himself through the Constitution Suggestion Commission in 046. In 058 and 061, Gyanendra attempted a 'coup'. Instead of winning the hearts of the people, they constantly showed an attitude of cheating by breaking the agreements with the people.

next scenario  The

fact says that the road infrastructure which was 376 km in 2007 exceeded 7,376 km in 046 and one lakh in 081. Average life expectancy rose from 38 years in 2007 to 72 in 2008. Until 2007, only 1 megawatt of electricity was produced, in 2046 it reached 227 megawatts and in 2081 it reached 2877 megawatts. User growth approached 100 percent. Access to basic drinking water rose from 6 percent to 95 percent. In this way, it is seen that there has been significant progress in the dimensions of national security such as infrastructure development, health, production and drinking water in recent decades. But ignoring such achievements, it seems that the illusion of 'what the republic has given' has spread. Those who spread confusion have sometimes tried to put the photo of Prithvi Narayan Shah and the Chief Minister of the neighboring country on the same wave. The person who once said 'Nepal should be made a state of India' has been made the alleged leader of the restoration of the monarchy. Sometimes carrying the national flag has inspired them to set fire to government offices and people's houses. The power to build a country is possible only from the brilliant minds selected from among the people. The 'date expire' thinking of birth superiority is not an option anymore. The decision-making ability is the demand of the country and the time, like the courage to make EPG and publish the Chuche map to correct the unequal treaty of 1950.
