Sukuna Secondary School in Sundarharaicha, Morang, has stated that it will fully cooperate with the legal investigation and inquiry into the teachers and staff accused in the sexual misconduct case that surfaced on social media.
In a press release issued by the school on Wednesday, it was mentioned that the school has taken serious note of the matters made public through the ‘SKN Confession Meme’ group on social media, and that the victims must receive justice through an impartial investigation, while the guilty must be punished according to the law.
In the statement jointly signed by the Chairperson of the Teachers-Parents Association, Khagendra Prasad Ghimire, Chairperson Ganesh Kumar Karki, and Acting Principal Rajendra Prasad Giri, it was stated that the accused teachers and staff have been immediately suspended and that the school is providing necessary support in the ongoing investigation by the concerned authorities. The school also stated that it is patiently awaiting the outcome of the investigation.
The school also expressed regret over activities on social media that accuse teachers and staff without evidence or facts, engage in character assassination, and harm the institution’s reputation. It has urged everyone to refrain from such activities and to exercise restraint so as not to affect the investigation process.
More than 5,000 students are enrolled at Sukuna. There are 178 teachers and staff working there. The school has requested parents, intellectuals, social workers, public representatives, and representatives of political parties to ensure that teaching and learning are not disrupted due to the incident and to send students to school regularly.
Meanwhile, the female teachers and staff of Sukuna Secondary School also issued a joint statement on Wednesday expressing their support for an impartial investigation into the incident.
