The special court has acquitted Congress leader Mohan Bahadur Basnet in the Terramax case.

The court has found Digambar Jha and others guilty. The bench of judges Hemant Rawal, Dilliratna Shrestha and Umesh Koirala of the special court pronounced this verdict on Monday.

The special court has found former secretary Dhanraj Gyawali, chairman of the Telecommunications Authority Jha and others guilty.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against them on 1 Jestha 2082. They have been sentenced to six months in prison and a fine of Rs 50,000. The special court has only sentenced them to a fine saying that they cannot recover the amount.

The court has sentenced Jha to an additional six months in prison. The verdict states that he will be punished further since he is the chairman of the authority.
