Police have arrested former UML MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who was sentenced to five years in prison for the murder of Armed Police Sub-Inspector Thaman Bik.
Madhesh Province Police Office spokesperson SSP Prabhu Dhakal informed that she was arrested from Mahottari. According to him, a police team deployed from District Police Office Mahottari arrested former MP Koiri from a public place in front of the Gaushala-5 UML party office at 6 pm on Thursday.
The arrested Mahato will be produced in court tomorrow, Friday. He is currently being kept at the District Police Office Mahottari. Former MP Koiri has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the murder of Armed Police Assistant Inspector Thaman Bik, who was on duty on the night of Bhadra 25, 2072.
