UML Vice President and former Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has been sent to Nepalgunj. A few moments ago, SP Thakur Prasad Pokharel of the District Police Office, Surkhet told Kantipur that Poudel was taken to Nepalgunj. Poudel was arrested from Surkhet on Monday for a money laundering investigation. The Money Laundering Investigation Department was investigating Poudel. He was arrested by the Surkhet police on the basis of the department's arrest warrant.
DIG of Karnali Province Jayaraj Sapkota said that Poudel was kept at the District Police Office, Surkhet for some time after his arrest. According to him, preparations are underway to send Poudel to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
Poudel had reached Surkhet on Sunday for the UML's internal election review and organizational restructuring program.
