The police have released Secretary Krishnahari Pushkar after questioning. On the orders of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, he was taken into custody by the Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku. However, an official from the ministry told Kantipur that he was released after questioning until late in the evening.

A team of police inspectors deployed from the office took him into custody from his home in Kapan and brought him to the office. Police sources have also confirmed that he was questioned on some issues.

According to ministry sources, he is accused of violating the 'chain of command' and sending messages directly to Prime Minister Balendra Shah for personal gain. Kathmandu police officials have not officially announced the arrest.

However, a high-ranking source said that he was released after questioning as there was no sufficient basis to prosecute him at the moment.

After Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal retired on 9 Mangsir 2082, Pushkar was also a contender for the post of Chief Secretary . However, the government had appointed Suman Raj Aryal as Chief Secretary .
