The District Court, Kathmandu, has ordered the release of RPP leader and former minister Bikram Pandey on bail. On Thursday, a bench of Judge Churaman Khadka ordered the release of Pandey after depositing a bail of Rs 400,000 after holding a closed hearing.

Pandey and others were accused of tampering with the financial proposal document system by gaining unauthorized access to the electronic procurement system under the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO).

Police claim that the police investigation has found that the contract was awarded to construction company operators including Pandey by accessing the government system in the main plan of the Dhankuta branch of the Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project.

After the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police conducted an investigation for two months, it was found that there were irregularities in more than two dozen tender processes, and a case was filed in the District Court, Kathmandu, against 22 people, including Pandey, who is also the director of Kalika Construction Pvt. Ltd. Bail has been sought from 11 of them. Similarly, Deuja, who is accused of manipulating data, has been ordered to be remanded in custody for trial.
