Ganesh KC, a member of the commission, has been appointed as the spokesperson of the commission formed to investigate the assets of high-ranking officials and employees from 2062/63 to 2082/83. The commission's meeting held on Friday appointed KC as the member. KC informed that the commission meeting appointed him as the spokesperson. He is also a retired DIG of the Nepal Police.

The government had formed a five-member inquiry commission under the chairmanship of former Supreme Court Justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari, comprising former justices Purushottam Parajuli and Chandiraj Dhakal, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police KC, and Chartered Accountant Prakash Lamsal, to investigate the assets of high-ranking officials and employees in governance/administration and public positions during the last 20 years (2062/63 to 2082/83).

The government has established the commission's office in the old Ministry of Education in Keshar Mahal. The commission has been given a term of 1 year.
